The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nordin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. David was covering up waiting for the punch and Nordin finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nordin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
David pulls Nordin in close to his closed guard and prevents Nordin from doing any damage or advancing position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tristan David hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

David decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Khalid Nordin.
Well Nordin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
