Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sasha Egov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pawel Hohs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sasha Egov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Hohs!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hohs fails with the takedown

and Egov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Egov controlling from the top position.

Egov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hohs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Egov has managed to get both his arms back between Hohs's legs - danger averted.
Egov throwing strikes but missing.
Egov content to stall in guard here.
Egov trying to control but Hohs is working from the bottom.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hohs wants to stand and escape but Egov is having none of it.

Egov stands up from Hohs's guard - Egov perhaps looking for a knockout.
Egov tries to clinch up

so Hohs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Egov lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Hohs trying to control the position from guard on top but Egov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Egov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Egov looking for subs off his back but Hohs has passed one foot through into half guard.

Egov manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Egov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Egov trying to control the action but Hohs is working from the bottom.
Egov tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Egov controlling the action here.
Hohs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Egov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hohs looking for submissions off his back.
Egov is breathing heavily.

Hohs pushes Egov off and gets back to his feet.
Egov throws a combination that misses
and Hohs counters with a left and a right that stings Egov.
Hohs shoots and misses

and Egov counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Egov goes for a takedown attempt but Hohs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Hohs feints and as Egov raises his hands in defense, Hohs changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hohs would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hohs wants to pass the guard but Egov is keeping the position.
Hohs engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hohs stands up and waves to Egov to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pawel Hohs will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Hohs closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Egov's guard.
Egov wants to sweep but no luck.
Egov wants to control the position but Hohs says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Hohs is working for a submission of some sort.
It looks like Hohs is going to stand back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Egov has hold of Hohs's hands but Hohs slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Hohs is thwarting Egov's attempts to control the position.
Hohs wants to stand up but Egov is controlling the position.
Hohs is trying to control. Egov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pawel Hohs has got the better of the ground game so far.
Egov is trying to get back to full guard.
Hohs passes to full mount!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hohs controlling the pace for now.
Hohs landing strikes from the mount.
Egov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Hohs trying to control but Egov is having none of it.

Hohs pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hohs looking to control but Egov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hohs lands a nice shot to the head.
Hohs with good strikes from the mount here!

Hohs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Egov looks a forlorn figure.

Hohs looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Hohs tries to control but Egov wriggling away.
Hohs lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pawel Hohs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Hohs pushes Egov up against the cage in a clinch.

Hohs manages to break the clinch.

Hohs darts in and clinches Egov up against the cage.
Hohs is trying to drag Egov to the mat but Egov just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hohs drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Egov gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Egov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sasha Egov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pawel Hohs.
Egov stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Hohs jumps guard.
Hohs controls Egov momentarily but Egov frees himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hohs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hohs is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Egov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hohs.
Hohs is looking to take a break and control but Egov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Egov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hohs is working away from the top position though.
Hohs trying to control the action but Egov is working from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hohs is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pawel Hohs hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hohs moves into range and clinches up with Egov.

Hohs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Egov wants to clinch but Hohs slips to the side
and Hohs counters with a series of strikes. Egov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Egov takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Hohs clinches up with Egov and pushes him back against the cage.
Hohs is stalling here.

Hohs decides to pull guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Egov stopping the sweep attempt from Hohs.
Egov wants to get up but he can't break Hohs's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hohs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Egov manages to get himself to full guard.
Hohs trying to stand up but can't free himself from Egov's guard.
Egov pulls Hohs in to control the position.
Hohs must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Egov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hohs wants to pass the guard but Egov is keeping the position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hohs rushes Egov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sasha Egov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pawel Hohs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hohs jumps guard and drags Egov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pawel Hohs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hohs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
