Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Frank Abbott Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Low (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abbott Jr comes into the arena with Metallica - Master of Puppets blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Abbott Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Low!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Abbott Jr enables Low to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Abbott Jr manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Low accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Abbott Jr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Abbott Jr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Abbott Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Abbott Jr is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Low is surviving well by controlling Abbott Jr's body position as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Low tries to clinch up but Abbott Jr circles away and keeps his distance.
Frank Abbott Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Low shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Abbott Jr pinned against the cage. Abbott Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Low closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Abbott Jr did well to prevent Low getting side control.
Abbott Jr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Low is breathing heavily.

Low moves nicely into side control.
Abbott Jr stops Low from passing to mount.

Low is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Abbott Jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Abbott Jr is trying to control Low's posture but Low avoids it.

Low can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abbott Jr is looking to escape.
Poor strikes thrown by Low there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Low cracks Abbott Jr with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
BOOM! Low connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Low showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

You can see the frustration on Abbott Jr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Low goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Abbott Jr has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Low but great work by Abbott Jr.
Low is not content to let Abbott Jr control the position.
The ground and pound from Abbott Jr seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Low manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Low is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Abbott Jr has his hands clasped together but Low extends an breaks Abbott Jr's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Low.
