Stryker comes to the cage accompanied by Die Motherfucker Die. Taylor is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dark Tranquillity - Therein. Corey Taylor has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor has his takedown stuffed
and Stryker counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Taylor throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Taylor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Taylor lands a hook that snaps the head of Stryker backwards.
A short right from Stryker.
Taylor wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Taylor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Taylor moves into the clinch.
Stryker throws a head punch that misses.

Taylor gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Stryker regains guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Taylor stands and throws Stryker's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stryker sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Taylor seems to be working for a kimura but Stryker defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stryker is looking to control Taylor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stryker avoid being mounted?
Taylor with the ground and pound but Stryker uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Stryker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Taylor with a flurry of punches that miss.
Stryker looking for a sweep. Not yet Stryker, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor tries to free his leg and advance position but Stryker is retaining full guard.
Taylor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Taylor postures up in Stryker's guard and throws a big left but Stryker blocks it.
Taylor with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Taylor looking to pass the guard.
Taylor lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Taylor stopping the sweep attempt from Stryker.

Taylor gets to his feet. Stryker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Taylor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stryker fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Taylor breaks the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stryker avoids a kick to the body.
Corey Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Taylor.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Taylor closes the distance and clinches.
Taylor dodges an elbow strike from Stryker.
Taylor looking to throw knees to the head but Stryker is blocking nicely.

Taylor's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Taylor looks for a takedown but Stryker sprawls well.
Stryker scores with a jab to the head.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Stryker lands a hook that snaps the head of Taylor backwards.
Stryker lands with a right to the head.
Taylor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Charles Stryker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Taylor.

Taylor works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stryker wants to sweep but no luck.
Taylor throws and elbow that misses. Stryker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Taylor's guard. Nice move by Stryker!

Stryker stands up and waves to Taylor to follow him.
Taylor swings widly with a right hand
and Stryker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Taylor displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stryker throws out the jab.
Stryker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stryker wants it to stay on the feet.
Taylor tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Taylor looks gassed!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Taylor forces Stryker back against the cage and clinches.
Stryker goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Taylor swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Stryker makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corey Taylor dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Taylor doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stryker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Taylor is rocked!
Crack! A monster head kick from Stryker and Taylor falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Stryker!
