Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lyot Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo Martinez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Machida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Martinez sprawls well initially but Machida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Martinez trying to hold on to Machida's head to control him but Machida postures up.
Martinez tries to get to full guard but Machida has control of the leg.
Martinez is not content to let Machida control the position.

Martinez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Machida pulls his head out easily.
Machida wants to control but Martinez is keeping him busy.
Machida prevents Martinez from improving his position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Machida lands a nice short elbow.

Martinez wants to improve his position but Machida is controlling well.
Martinez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Machida trying to control the position from guard on top but Martinez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Machida has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Machida is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Martinez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lyot Machida.
Machida is looking to clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Martinez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Machida to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Machida stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Machida changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martinez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Machida is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Martinez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Machida tries to advance to mount but Martinez denies him.
Martinez is looking for a sweep.

Machida cracks Martinez with a big right hand but Martinez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Machida is working to tighten is grip on Martinez's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Martinez has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Machida is really squeezing tight and eventually Martinez passes out! Machida breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
