PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Svullo Uzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uzi comes to the cage accompanied by Svullo - ('Too fat for a fuck')" . Gracie has chosen Devotion as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Svullo Uzi has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzi lands a really nice looking cross but Gracie seems unphased.

It looks like Royce Gracie has been cut.

Uzi moves into range and clinches up with Gracie.
Uzi lands a shoulder strike.
Uzi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Uzi tries a body shot but Gracie blocks it.

Gracie has Uzi pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gracie pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Uzi tumbling to the mat - Gracie dives into Uzi's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Uzi is keeping the position for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uzi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Uzi is keeping the position.

Uzi controls Gracie momentarily but Gracie frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uzi wants to sweep but no luck.
Uzi keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
Gracie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gracie misses with a shot to the body
and Uzi counters with a nice uppercut.
Uzi moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Gracie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Uzi's hands.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.
Uzi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Royce Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Uzi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Uzi moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
Gracie throws a chopping leg kick but Uzi manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Uzi.
Gracie looks to land a combination but Uzi avoids it well.
Uzi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Uzi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A swing and a miss from Uzi.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Uzi scores with a jab.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Uzi circles away.

Uzi clinches up against the cage.
Uzi lands a hook to the side of the head.
Uzi throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie.
Gracie has had enough of the clinch but Uzi keeps him there for the moment.
Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but Uzi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Svullo Uzi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gracie. Uzi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Uzi is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.
Gracie misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Uzi.
Gracie lands a nice hook to Uzi's body. Uzi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie tries to move into range but Uzi moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Uzi wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Uzi to the mat! Uzi manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Uzi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Uzi in his guard.

Uzi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Uzi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Uzi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
