The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lassiter throws a hook but Cahil avoids it easily.

Cahil darts in and clinches Lassiter up against the cage.

Cahil throws a sloppy head kick and Lassiter moves out of range easily.
Cahil loads up on a big right hand but Lassiter slips the punch.

Lassiter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Cahil shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Cahil has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Lassiter works to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gerald Lassiter.
Lassiter lands a nice shot that snaps Cahil's head back.
Cahil paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lassiter. Cahil does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cahil takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Cahil fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lassiter manages to avoid it.
