The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henderson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vera.
Blake Henderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Henderson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Vera looking to score a takedown here. Henderson is defending well but Vera drives through and ends up in Henderson's guard.
Vera throwing strikes from guard but Henderson blocks nicely.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Henderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Henderson is controlling Vera's posture.
Vera throws a big right hand that misses.
Vera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vera's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Henderson misses with a series of wild punches.
Vera takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Vera shoots for a takedown but Henderson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Henderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Vera is breathing heavily.
Henderson misses with a double jab.
Henderson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Vera shoots in but no luck this time.

Henderson looks to land a combination but Vera avoids it well.

It looks like Efrain Vera has been cut.
Henderson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Henderson looks to land a combination but Vera avoids it well.
Henderson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vera circles away quickly and effectively.
Vera takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Henderson throws a leg kick which misses Vera's front leg but catches the back leg as Vera tries to avoid it.
Henderson tests Vera's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Henderson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Vera doesn't seem bothered though.
Nice jab there from Henderson.
Henderson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Henderson fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Vera is out of range.
Henderson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Vera's head backwards.

Vera is rocked!
Henderson circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Vera to the canvas! Vera doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Henderson keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
