The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lovely dips to his left and cracks Akiyama with an uppercut!

and Akiyama counters with a single leg into guard. Lovely didn't expect that.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jun Akiyama wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Akiyama closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lovely should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
