Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Hossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredrik Lorin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lorin tries to bum rush Hossa with a series of wild strikes but Hossa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hossa fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hossa shoots in for a double leg but Lorin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lorin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hossa had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lorin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hossa Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lorin's back instead.

Hossa is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Lorin has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Lorin manages to stand up with Hossa still on his back. Eventually Hossa drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Hossa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lorin's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lorin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lorin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hossa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hossa's back!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lorin cracks Hossa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hossa's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hossa is looking to improve his position but Lorin isn't that keen on the idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lorin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hossa turns into him and now he's in Lorin's guard.
Lorin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hossa manages to pass to side control.
Hossa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hossa lands a nice short elbow.
