The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dela lands a right hook to the body.
Micks misses with a body punch
and Dela counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Micks misses with a lunging right hand
and Dela counters with a nice body shot.
Micks rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Dela counters with a nice body shot.
Fred Micks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Micks throws an off balance right hand
and Dela counters with a stiff right hand.
Dela throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Micks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Micks is breathing heavily.
Dela changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Dela lands a jab to Micks's midsection.
Dela is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Micks rather than just go for the knockout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice leg kick lands there from Dela.
Dela fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Micks manages to avoid it.
Dela throws a series of punches but Micks moves out of range.
Micks swings widly with a right hand
and Dela counters with a right hand to the body.
Micks misses with a jab to the body
and Dela counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Dela buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dela connects with a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dela throws a body punch but Micks moves out of range.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dela lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Micks has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Micks and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A nice combination there by Dela.
Dela connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dela with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Dela goes for a small jab and connects. Now Dela goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Micks stumbles back but Dela runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Micks to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Micks will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sarge Dela!
