Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Marius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jing Ya Xu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Marius might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to My World - Dale Oliver. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ya Xu gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ya Xu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marius gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Ya Xu shoots and misses
and Marius connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jing Ya Xu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ya Xu misses with a hook
and Marius counters with a solid body kick.
Ya Xu looks gassed!
Nice jab there from Marius.
Ya Xu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Marius to the ground. Ya Xu is now in Marius's guard.
Marius is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ya Xu defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marius working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ya Xu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ya Xu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Marius is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ya Xu defends well.
Ya Xu throws and elbow that misses. Marius uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ya Xu's guard. Nice move by Marius!

Ya Xu is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ya Xu wants to get back to his feet but Marius passes into half guard.
Marius is looking to take a break and control but Ya Xu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Marius is working for a kimura but Ya Xu is defending it quite comfortably.
Marius is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Marius is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ya Xu is just riding it out for now. Marius eventually gives up the hold.
Ya Xu pushes Marius off looking to stand but Marius dives back in and keeps control.
Marius is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ya Xu defends it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ya Xu is looking to escape.
Ya Xu pushes Marius off but Marius dives into side control.
Ya Xu wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Marius working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ya Xu is looking to get back to his feet here but Marius is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ya Xu's back.

Marius looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Marius stops Ya Xu from getting back to his feet.

Marius has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ya Xu defend it? Marius steps over the head and cranks it - Ya Xu is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Marius!
