The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ricard instigates a clinch.

Phelps tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ricard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ricard scores with a leg kick.
Ricard walks into a jab.

Ricard moves into range and clinches up with Phelps.
Phelps is trying to push Ricard away but Ricard has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ricard manages to break the clinch.
Sloppy strikes from Ricard. Those never looked like landing.
Phelps lands with a straight right. Ricard didn't see that one coming.

It looks like Frank Ricard has been cut.

Ricard clinches with his opponent.
A body shot lands from Ricard.

Ricard has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Phelps regains guard immediately.
Ricard loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Phelps had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ricard defends it easily.

Ricard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Phelps swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Phelps is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ricard defends well.
Ricard lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Ricard is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Phelps has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ricard is looking to defend but Phelps has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ricard! Phelps pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ricard taps out and this one is all over!
