Ben is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. TJ Ben has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, TJ Ben!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gerald Tress!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tress gets a double leg takedown into Ben's guard.
Ben is breathing heavily.
Tress is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Tress is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Ben could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tress engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Tress passes Ben's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Tress looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ben with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Tress decides to return to a standing position.
Gerald Tress seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tress closes the distance and clinches.

Tress pulls Ben into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tress wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ben has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tress bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ben's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tress slips nicely into half guard.
Nice strikes from Tress there.

Tress has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Ben defend it? Tress steps over the head and cranks it - Ben is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Tress!
