Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicolai Romanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Grimaldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Romanov comes to the cage accompanied by The Party. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Grimaldi!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimaldi avoids the body shot from Romanov.
Grimaldi misses with a lunging right hand
and Romanov counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Romanov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Romanov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Nicolai Romanov has been cut.
A jab from Romanov does it's job there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Romanov tries to land a leg kick but Grimaldi saw it coming and moves away.

and Grimaldi counters with a crisp one two that drops Romanov! Grimaldi thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Romanov to his feet! Romanov is in big trouble!

Grimaldi tries to clinch there but Romanov circles away.
Romanov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grimaldi sprawls well. Grimaldi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Romanov gets slowly back to his feet.

and Romanov counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Grimaldi's guard now.

Romanov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grimaldi's waist but Grimaldi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Romanov off to one side.
Romanov throws a body punch but Grimaldi moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Grimaldi enables Romanov to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Grimaldi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Nicolai Romanov will probably get the nod.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Romanov has control of Grimaldi's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Grimaldi regains control of the situation pretty easily.
