The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marciano throws a combination that misses
and Barbaro counters with a right hand to the body.
Barbaro scores with a decent looking hook.
Rocky Marciano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barbaro fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marciano looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A left and a right from Barbaro both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Rocky Marciano has been cut.
Marciano looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Marciano takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Marciano should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Barbaro lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Marciano at a distance.
Barbaro dances in with a quick combination. Marciano is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Barbaro snaps Marciano's head back. Marciano stumbles backwards against the cage. Barbaro steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Marciano's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Marciano just didn't come prepared.
