The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wood lands a body shot.
Vanhoose throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vanhoose pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Vanhoose throws a head kick that Wood semi-blocks.
Vanhoose is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Wood scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Vanhoose is rocked!

Wood is working for a submission of some sort.
Vanhoose is looking for a sweep. Wood is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wood is looking for a kimura but Vanhoose is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wood to get the leverage.

Wood is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vanhoose is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Vanhoose is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Vanhoose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
