Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yann Methan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Melton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Methan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fart Song. Melton has chosen Dj Khaled (Feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne) - I'm On One as his entrance music. Yann Methan has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Melton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Melton swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Methan throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Melton fails in his attempt to clinch.
Methan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Methan moves out of range of the strikes.
Melton throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Melton avoids a punch combination nicely.
A jab from Melton finds it's way through Methan's defenses.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Methan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Melton shoots in and bounces Methan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Melton works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Melton seems to be working for a kimura but Methan defends the submission attempt.
Melton thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Methan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Melton pulls his head out easily.
Melton is thwarting Methan's attempts to control the position.

Melton slips a nice elbow through Methan's hands, connecting with Methan's forehead.
Melton is taking a breather. Methan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Melton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Methan's head.
Melton is controlling the pace.
Melton landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Still in half guard, Melton seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Melton slips a nice elbow through Methan's hands, connecting with Methan's forehead.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Melton in particular looking to stall.
Melton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Melton lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Methan is not content to let Melton control the position.
Melton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Melton passes the guard and advances to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Melton unloads with some shots from mount but Methan bucks and avoids them well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Troy Melton dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A looping hook to the body misses from Methan. Melton does a little dance to reset his feet.
Methan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Melton.
Methan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Melton misses with a looping right.
Methan throws a series of punches but Melton avoids them all with ease.
Melton misses with a left hand
and Methan counters with a straight right hand.
Methan slips a jab from Melton.
Troy Melton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melton tries to clinch
and Methan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Melton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Melton misses with an uppercut
and Methan counters with a one-two to the body.
Melton drives through with a takedown into Methan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Melton postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Troy Melton has got the better of the ground game so far.

Melton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Melton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Melton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Methan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Methan has escaped and now he's on top!
Methan tries to stand but Melton is controlling from the bottom.

Melton is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Methan frees his head nicely. Oh but Melton has switched to an armbar! Methan is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
