PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arigato Sayonara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Fehn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Fehn struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arigato Sayonara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Fehn!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fehn avoids the body shot from Sayonara.
Fehn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sayonara lands with a shot to the body.
Fehn throws a right hand that misses
and Sayonara counters with a right hand to the body.
Fehn will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Chris Fehn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fehn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fehn moves in looking to clinch but Sayonara pushes him off.
Sayonara swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Fehn counters with a nice uppercut.
Sayonara keeps the fight on the outside.
Fehn lands a nice hook to Sayonara's body. Sayonara takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sayonara has a takedown stuffed.

Sayonara scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sayonara is trying to control. Fehn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Sayonara is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sayonara slips a nice elbow through Fehn's hands, connecting with Fehn's forehead.

Sayonara in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Fehn tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Sayonara!
