PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pauli Puska Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Piper takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Puska Jr misses with a hook.
Puska Jr throws a hook but Piper blocks it.
Puska Jr misses the shot to the body.
Piper tries to close the distance and clinch but Puska Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Piper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Puska Jr as he jumps to the side.

Piper throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Puska Jr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Piper is in Puska Jr's guard.

Peter Piper has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Puska Jr pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Piper back to the cage. Puska Jr follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Piper shoots in looking for a takedown. Puska Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Piper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Puska Jr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Piper does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Piper has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Piper there as he acknowledges the shot.
Piper needs to keep his hands up - Puska Jr had a free shot at his head there.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Peter Piper.
