PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heddy Lamaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Ellison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lamaar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pledge To Hedley Lamaar. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamaar takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
A combination from Ellison does no damage.
Decent striking displayed by Ellison there.
Ellison throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A low kick from Lamaar is predictable there

and Ellison counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ellison wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lamaar has him pressed against the cage.
Ellison stops a takedown attempt from Lamaar.
Ellison tries to circle away but Lamaar has him pinned against the cage.
Lamaar keeps control of Ellison as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lamaar tries to score a body lock takedown but Ellison shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Ellison is trying to break free.
Ellison wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ellison stops a takedown attempt from Lamaar.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heddy Lamaar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ellison must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lamaar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ellison defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ellison accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ellison really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lamaar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ellison has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lamaar is proving hard to escape from.
Lamaar controls Ellison momentarily but Ellison frees himself.

Lamaar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ellison doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ellison manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lamaar has a closed guard, preventing Ellison from standing up.

Ellison wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lamaar's closed guard. He's half up but Lamaar has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lamaar pivots and extends the arm, Ellison falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lamaar! Well done that man!
