The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlsson with a poor takedown
and Egan counters with a good low kick that Karlsson was not able to check.
Egan throws a series of punches but Karlsson moves out of range.
Karlsson has his takedown stuffed
and Egan counters with a thumping low kick.
Karlsson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Egan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonny Karlsson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Egan works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Egan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Egan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Egan! Karlsson is out on his feet! Egan rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Karlsson is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Karlsson is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
