Cherry comes to the cage accompanied by Busters Back. Plant has chosen Au innebunit salcamii as his entrance music. Buster Cherry has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cherry throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Plant stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Cherry gets tackled into the cage by Plant. Plant maintains the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cherry pushes Plant back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Plant tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cherry manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Plant throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Marcus Plant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cherry looks to land a right hand but Plant moved out of range.

Plant drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Plant is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cherry is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cherry has escaped and now he's on top!

Cherry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Plant manages to avoid it.
Cherry will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Plant looks to throw the jab but Cherry is out of range.

Cherry tries to buck Plant off but Plant is having none of it.

Plant loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Cherry scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Plant land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Plant stands and salutes the crowd.
