The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jacobson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gad!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gad wants to control but Jacobson postures up.
Gad has one of Jacobson's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Jacobson wants to control his opponent's hands but Gad gets his hands free.

Gad thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Gad is not going to allow Jacobson to sit and survive in this position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
I really don't envy Jacobson right now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacobson is working hard here to advance position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Anton Gad was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jacobson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Jacobson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Gad shoots in for a takedown but Jacobson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jacobson is pushing down on Gad's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gad is fighting to maintain full guard but Jacobson has managed to sneak the leg through.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jacobson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gad doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jacobson.
Gad moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jacobson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jacobson wants to control from the top but Gad keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gad is on top in guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jacobson wants to get back to his feet but Gad is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Heni Jacobson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Jacobson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gad to the ground. Jacobson is now in Gad's guard.
Gad is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jacobson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Heni Jacobson.

Jacobson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jacobson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gad can't keep his opponent in guard - Jacobson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jacobson connects with a nice short shot to Gad's temple.
Jacobson wants to stand but Gad has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Jacobson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Gad is trying is best to control the position here.

Gad has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jacobson is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jacobson misses with a head kick.

Jacobson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jacobson showed some decent athleticism there.

Jacobson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Gad shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jacobson counters with a shoot takedown. Gad fights it but they end up in guard.

Gad tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Gad controls Jacobson momentarily but Jacobson frees himself.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gad gets tackled into the cage by Jacobson. Jacobson maintains the clinch.

Jacobson wants the takedown. Gad is fighting it off but Jacobson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gad's guard against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gad manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jacobson manages to get himself to full guard.
Anton Gad has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Heni Jacobson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Jacobson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
