Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Hinkelton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Gothiking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hinkelton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is '2001 A Space Odyssey' Theme . I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Luis Gothiking was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Hinkelton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hinkelton tries to bum rush Gothiking with a series of wild strikes but Gothiking uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Hinkelton connects with a leg kick. Gothiking looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gothiking misses with a takedown attempt
and Hinkelton counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Gothiking decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gothiking tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hinkelton knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hinkelton is looking to control Gothiking's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hinkelton avoid being mounted?

Gothiking is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gothiking seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hinkelton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gothiking is working for a kimura but Hinkelton is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gothiking tries to pass to full mount but Hinkelton defends it.

Hinkelton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gothiking is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hinkelton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gothiking on the ground.

We're going to have a standup here because Trent Hinkelton wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hinkelton tries a head kick but it misses.
Gothiking with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hinkelton to score with a decent uppercut.

It looks like Luis Gothiking has been cut.
Gothiking takes a kick to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gothiking chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hinkelton can pounce on him.
Gothiking shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hinkelton counters with a three punch combo that has Gothiking backing up. Gothiking nods at Hinkelton to acknowledge the strikes.

Gothiking is rocked!
Gothiking looks gassed!
Hinkelton is pawing at Gothiking, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Gothiking's nose. Gothiking is badly hurt! Hinkelton pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Gothiking tries desperately to hold on but Hinkelton is relentless in his assault! As Gothiking receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Hinkelton away and this one is in the books!
