Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Wilkinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilkinson comes to the cage accompanied by Unbreakable. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Wilkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson's corner calls for a 1-2. Jackson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Wilkinson with a poor takedown
and Jackson counters with a nice body kick.
Jackson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Wilkinson swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Wilkinson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jackson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Wilkinson's knee momentarily.

A solid body kick from Jackson.
Jackson is looking to clinch.
Wilkinson with a lazy takedown attempt
and Jackson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Jackson tries to clinch but Wilkinson is having none of it.

Jackson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Wilkinson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Wilkinson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wilkinson is looking to advance position but Jackson won't allow it.
Jackson tries to get to full guard but Wilkinson has control of the leg.
Wilkinson trying to control from half guard but Jackson is working away.
Wilkinson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Jackson lands an elbow inside that Wilkinson shrugs off.


It looks like Sam Wilkinson has been cut.
Wilkinson tries for a takedown but Jackson manages to get underhooks.

Wilkinson drags the fight down to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wilkinson is on top in guard.
Wilkinson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jackson keeping moving, preventing Wilkinson from controlling successfully.
Wilkinson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Wilkinson trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson is controlling Wilkinson's posture.
Wilkinson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilkinson's guard.
Wilkinson trying to keep a closed guard but Jackson is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jackson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jackson throws a shot from downtown. Wilkinson moves away and avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shawn Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Wilkinson throws a jab when Jackson was well out of range.

Sam Wilkinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wilkinson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jackson counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wilkinson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jackson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wilkinsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

and Jackson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Jackson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Jackson.
Wilkinson dodges an elbow strike from Jackson.
Wilkinson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jackson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Wilkinson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jackson lands a left hand.
Jackson lands an elbow that stopped Wilkinson in his tracks for a moment.
Jackson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Wilkinson trying to stall but Jackson improves his position.
Jackson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wilkinson takes an elbow to the forehead.
Wilkinson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Wilkinson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wilkinson swats away the attempt to clinch by Jackson.
Wilkinson tries for a takedown but Jackson circles away easily
and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shawn Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jackson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
