Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wilmer Musa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alek Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Musa comes into the arena with metallica enter sandman blaring out of the sound system. Wilmer Musa has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mitchell misses with a combination
and Musa counters with a one-two to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Musa lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mitchell has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mitchell and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Musa walks into a left hand.

Musa moves to clinch but Mitchell breaks away
and Mitchell counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Mitchell misses with a takedown attempt - Musa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mitchell throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Musa on the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mitchell gets a takedown into half guard.

Mitchell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Musa is just riding it out for now. Mitchell eventually gives up the hold.

Mitchell is working for a kimura but Musa is defending it quite comfortably.

Mitchell wants to advance to full mount but Musa doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Musa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mitchell. Musa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mitchell throws the left hand but Musa avoids the punch easily.
Mitchell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Musa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mitchell somewhat.

Mitchell is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Musa has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Musa!

Mitchell has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Musa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mitchell.
