The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shevchenko darts in trying to clinch
and Rage counters with a left and a right that stings Shevchenko.
Rage lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Alex Shevchenko has been cut.
Rage throws a body punch but Shevchenko moves out of range.
Shevchenko tries to clinch up but Rage circles away and keeps his distance.
Rage misses with a two punch combination.

and Shevchenko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rage wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Rage trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Shevchenko is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

We're going to have a standup here because Cisco Rage wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Rage misses with a double jab

and Shevchenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shevchenko.

Shevchenko gets to his feet - Rage follows without any prompting.
Shevchenko wants to clinch
and Rage counters with a nice body shot.
A combination from Rage does no damage.
Rage jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shevchenko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rage swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rage looks like he's trying to stand up.

Shevchenko stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rage to get to his feet.
Rage throws a nice looking combination but Shevchenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Shevchenko counters by moving into the clinch.
Shevchenko jumps guard but Rage stands there with Shevchenko around his waist. Shevchenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shevchenko gets to his feet - Rage follows without any prompting.
Shevchenko closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Rage counter with a right hand.
Rage swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Shevchenko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shevchenko.
Shevchenko tries to stand but Rage is controlling from the bottom.
Rage is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rage is working an open guard so Shevchenko takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Rage tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Shevchenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Rage.
Shevchenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rage swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No joy there for Rage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shevchenko scores a takedown into full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shevchenko stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rage jabs Shevchenko to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Rage circles away from the clinch attempt
and Rage counters with a two punch combo.
Alex Shevchenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rage throws a head kick that misses

and Shevchenko counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shevchenko decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A right-left combo lands from Rage.
Rage misses with a combination

and Shevchenko counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rage!
Rage wants to get back to his feet.

Shevchenko get's back to his feet.
Shevchenko is breathing heavily.

Shevchenko closes the distance but Rage moves to the side
and Rage counters with a straight right hand.
Rage tries a head kick but it misses.
Rage looks to throw the jab but Shevchenko is out of range.
Shevchenko shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Rage throws a combination. Shevchenko tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Shevchenko tries to clinch but Rage moves away
and Rage counters with a left and a right that stings Shevchenko.


Shevchenko is rocked!


That has opened up Alex Shevchenko's cut even more.
Shevchenko shoots and misses
and Rage counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Shevchenko off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Rage follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Shevchenko was out before he hit the floor.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Cisco Rage!
