The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricard darts in trying to clinch
so Lagos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lagos slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lagos throws a big right hand that misses.
Lagos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ricard is keeping the position for now.

Lagos's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Lagos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lagos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Xander Lagos.
