PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ying Yang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shuya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ying Yang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shuya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yang feints and then cracks Aoki's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Aoki down.
Aoki misses with a right hand
and Yang counters with an outside leg kick.
Aoki takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Yang counters with a straight right hand.
Aoki on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Yang fakes the leg kick and cracks Aoki in the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Aoki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Yang cracks Aoki with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Yang uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Aoki has time to react.

Yang is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Yang lands with a hook. Aoki tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Yang cracks Aoki with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yang lands with a kick to the temple. Aoki shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ying Yang dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Yang throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Aoki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Yang looks for the body kick but Aoki saw that one coming.

Aoki slips a jab and a cross from Yang.
Yang lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Aoki on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Yang closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aoki's guard.

Yang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yang not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Yang's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Yang duly obliges.
Yang shoots in but Aoki avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yang lands a nice leg kick that just misses Aoki's sensitive parts.

Ying Yang dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Aoki gets caught napping as Yang dives in and scores a takedown. Aoki manages to retain guard.

Aoki is working an open guard so Yang takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Aoki takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Aoki's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Aoki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Yang. Aoki shrugs it off though.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yang is defended easily by Aoki.
A looping hook to the body misses from Yang. Aoki does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yang throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Yang dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Yang shoots in for a takedown but Aoki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Aoki crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Yang - the referee stops the clock and Aoki gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Yang. Aoki manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Shuya Aoki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Yang shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Well Yang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
