PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Arnold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arnold has chosen Resurrection as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arnold tries a head kick but it misses.
Arnold moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gaines swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Arnold cracks a nice hook into Gaines's ribs.
Good shot there by Gaines.
Arnold moves out of range of the strikes.
Gaines jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Gaines throws an off balance right hand
and Arnold counters with a low kick, right behind Gaines 's knee.
Arnold displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gaines throws out the jab.
Gaines throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Arnold misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gaines swings widly with a right hand

and Arnold holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gaines is trying to push Arnold away but Arnold has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Gaines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gaines moves out of range as Arnold throws a body kick.
Gaines misses with a left hand
and Arnold counters with a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Arnold.
A swing and a miss from Gaines.
Gaines thows a leg kick but Arnold checks it

and Arnold moves into the clinch.

Gaines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Arnold blocks a jab.
Gaines closes the distance but Arnold moves to the side
and Arnold counters with an inside leg kick.
Arnold changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gaines tries to avoid it but Arnold manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gaines to the ground. Gaines escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gaines cracks Arnold with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Gaines tries to clinch up but Arnold circles away and keeps his distance.
Gaines connects with a right hand. Arnold shakes it off.
Gaines misses with a leg kick
and Arnold counters with a body kick that stops Gaines in his tracks momentarily.
Arnold ducks under a wild hook from Gaines.

and Arnold counters with a nice body kick.
Gaines wants to clinch.
Arnold tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gaines is looking to clinch.
A head kick misses from Arnold.
Gaines fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Arnold looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gaines lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Arnold has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Arnold and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Arnold wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gaines has him pressed against the cage.

Gaines breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gaines lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Gaines throws a jab but it's blocked by Arnold.

Gaines closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Gaines breaks the clinch.
Gaines scores with a nice strike.
Gaines throws a low kick but Arnold avoids it.
Gaines tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A decent looking cross lands there for Gaines.
Gaines jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Arnold is rocked!
Arnold ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Arnold ducks under a wild hook from Gaines.

Gaines drops Arnold with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Arnold looks back up at him and smiles so Gaines waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Arnold is still on wobbly legs! Can Gaines finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Arnold takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Arnold seems to have recovered his senses.
Arnold uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gaines.
Gaines misses with a straight right.
Arnold with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gaines to score with a decent uppercut.
Gaines lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Gaines throws out a loose jab but Arnold uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gaines is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Arnold takes one to the side of the head.
Arnold walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Gaines swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
