The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Quick shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
Quick shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Quick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Satan Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Quick.

Quick is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Quick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Quick manages to get himself to full guard.

Horrible takedown by Quick or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad.

Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Quick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Quick manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Quick.

Quick looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
