Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Renato Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie scores a takedown into full mount!
Gracie takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Johnson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Johnson is working hard here to advance position.

Gracie get's back to his feet.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Johnson stalks Gracie and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gracie's face. Gracie staggers backwards, shaken.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.

and Johnson counters with a one-two to the body.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall.

Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Johnson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gracie thows a big elbow that misses.
Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Gracie thows a huge punch but Johnson dodges it nicely.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Johnson has left one of his arms exposed and Gracie doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Johnson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
