Hyypia is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: You'll never walk alone. Sami Svensson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurstr�m and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Svensson stuffs the takedown.
Jari Hyypia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hyypia dips to his left and cracks Svensson with an uppercut!
Svensson throws a jab but it's blocked by Hyypia.
Hyypia throws a poor cross that misses
and Svensson counters with a nice uppercut.
Svensson scores with a nice strike.
Hyypia swings for the body but Svensson moves out of range.
Svensson thows a body shot but no joy.
Hyypia shoots in looking for a takedown. Svensson tries to sprawl out of it but Hyypia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Svensson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sami Svensson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jari Hyypia.
Hyypia fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Svensson avoids it really well and circles away.

Svensson throws a hook but Hyypia blocks it.
Hyypia throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hyypia misses with a combination
and Svensson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hyypia misses with a jab to the body
enabling Svensson to counter with a crisp jab.
Hyypia looks for a takedown but Svensson sprawls well.
Svensson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hyypia on the side of the head.
Nice takedown defense from Svensson. No joy for Hyypia on that attempt.

A lazy left from Svensson finds it's target.
Hyypia closes the distance and clinches up with Svensson, looking for a takedown. Hyypia pushes Svensson against the cage but Svensson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hyypia looks gassed!
Svensson looks to throw the jab but Hyypia is out of range.
Hyypia looks to land a left hand but Svensson moved out of range nicely.
Hyypia swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Svensson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A slow jab from Svensson misses its intended target.
Svensson slips a straight right by Hyypia.
Svensson misses with an uppercut
and Hyypia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Svensson is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Hyypia throws out a loose jab but Svensson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hyypia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Svensson pinned against the cage. Svensson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hyypia is defended easily by Svensson.

Hyypia uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Svensson.
Hyypia falls off balance throwing a combination
and Svensson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Svensson looks to throw the jab but Hyypia is out of range.
Nice defenses there by Hyypia.
Hyypia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Svensson works over Hyypia's head and body with a nice combination.
Hyypia is rocked!
It looks like Jari Hyypia has been cut.

Svensson Throws a clean left jab. Svensson Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Hyypia's chin! Hyypia crumbles to the ground and Svensson follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Svensson!
