PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chiwawa Chagaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sougetsu Ma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chiwawa Chagaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sougetsu Ma!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ma takes a kick to the side of the head.
Chagaev throws a combination. Ma tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like Sougetsu Ma has been cut.
Chagaev fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ma swings widly with a right hand
and Chagaev counters with a left to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ma misses with a body shot
and Chagaev finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Ma looks gassed!

Chagaev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chagaev lands in his opponent's guard.
Chagaev slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Chagaev working the ground and pound but Ma is defending the strikes.
Chagaev is looking to take a break and control but Ma is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Chagaev decides to stand back up. Chagaev steps back and let's Ma get back to his feet.
Chagaev lands a jab to the head.
Chagaev throws a nice head kick!

That's one minute gone in the round.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ma crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Chagaev - the referee stops the clock and Ma gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Chagaev. Ma manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Chagaev lands a big head kick that sends Ma to the canvas! Chagaev follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chiwawa Chagaev!
