The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niemen throws a body punch but Kalashnikov moves out of range.
Niemen avoids a kick to the body.
Niemen misses with a two punch combination.
An inside leg kick lands from Kalashnikov.

Andrei Kalashnikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kalashnikov tries to land a front kick but Niemen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Niemen misses with the combination.
Niemen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kalashnikov under the eye.
Niemen throws a nice looking combination but Kalashnikov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Some bone on bone action there as Niemen checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

It looks like Andrei Kalashnikov has been cut.
Kalashnikov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kalashnikov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice body kick from Niemen.
Niemen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Niemen looks to land a body kick but Kalashnikov moved away.
Kalashnikov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Niemen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kalashnikov scrambles back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Niemen throws a hook to the side of Kalashnikov's head but Kalashnikov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Crunch! Niemen slams his shin into Kalashnikov's torso.

and Niemen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kalashnikov looks gassed!
Niemen throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Niemen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

That has opened up Andrei Kalashnikov's cut even more.
Niemen walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Kalashnikov drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Niemen swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Kalashnikov's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
