The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Texan misses with a takedown
and DeGraaf cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

DeGraaf clinches up with Texan and pushes him back against the cage.
DeGraaf misses with a hook from the clinch.

DeGraaf pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

DeGraaf looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
DeGraaf wants to free his trapped foot but Texan is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

DeGraaf postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Texan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of DeGraaf, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
DeGraaf is really struggling to control Texan but he's trying to hold on to the position.

DeGraaf is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Texan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Texan shrugs it off.
Texan is desperately trying to improve his position but DeGraaf has a good base and remains in mount.
