Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bertolt Brecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Olausson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bertolt Brecht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gabriel Olausson!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Olausson tries to sprawl but Brecht drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Olausson moves into full guard.
Brecht not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Brecht trying to control but Olausson is working from the bottom.
Olausson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Brecht stops Olausson from standing up.
Brecht scoring with some ground and pound.
Olausson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Olausson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Olausson has a closed guard, preventing Brecht from standing up.
Brecht wants to control from the top but Olausson keeps moving.
Olausson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brecht manages to get himself to full guard.
Brecht looking to hit a scissor sweep but Olausson is one step ahead there.
Brecht pulls Olausson in close to his closed guard and prevents Olausson from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Olausson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Bertolt Brecht wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Brecht counters with a nice double leg into side control. Olausson won't be happy with that.

Brecht tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brecht has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Olausson is nestled in close to Brecht, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Brecht thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Brecht controls Olausson momentarily but Olausson frees himself.
Brecht looking for a sweep. Not yet Brecht, not yet.

Gabriel Olausson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Olausson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Brecht counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Olausson!

Olausson is breathing heavily.
Olausson is squirming around, avoiding Brecht's attempts to control the action.

Brecht takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Brecht can't control as he wanted to and Olausson manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Brecht thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Olausson works his way to full guard. Good work.
Brecht is looking to advance position but Olausson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Olausson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brecht is looking to escape.

Olausson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Olausson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Brecht is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Olausson wants to control the pace but Brecht is squirming around nicely.
Olausson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Brecht can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabriel Olausson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Brecht lands a nice shot to the head.
Brecht lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Bertolt Brecht overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Brecht has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Olausson's face.


It looks like Gabriel Olausson has been cut.

Well Brecht has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
