Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damuho Balasubas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damuho Balasubas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balasubas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Balasubas showed some decent athleticism there.
Hawk looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Hawk is trying to get back to full guard.
Balasubas stands up from half guard.
Balasubas cracks Hawk with a good jab.
No joy there for Hawk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hawk defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Balasubas.
Hawk throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Balasubas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Balasubas has his feet on Hawk's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

and Balasubas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hawk's guard now.
Balasubas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hawk's guard.
Balasubas tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hawk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Balasubas moves into full mount! Hawk won't be happy about that!
Hawk is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Balasubas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hawk has eaten all the pies!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Damuho Balasubas just wasn't active enough.
Hawk darts in trying to clinch
and Balasubas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hawk!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Hawk takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Balasubas gets control of Hawk's arms and successfully pulls guard. Balasubas will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Balasubas is pulling down on Hawk's head. It's preventing any offense from Hawk, at least for the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Balasubas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Balasubas is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hawk can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Balasubas cracks Hawk with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Balasubas manages to capitalize on a mistake by Hawk to take his back!

Balasubas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Balasubas postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hawk to stand up.

Balasubas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Balasubas stands up and beckons Hawk to his feet.
A low kick from Hawk is predictable there
and Balasubas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Balasubas is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hawk!

Damuho Balasubas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
