Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel LaRusso!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Ferro keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Ferro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ferro content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
LaRusso looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Ferro is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gilvan Ferro has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
LaRusso connects with a high kick.
Ferro tries to score a power double leg takedown but LaRusso sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ferro somewhat.
Ferro fails with a takedown attempt.
A head kick by Ferro misses
and LaRusso counters with a good low kick that Ferro was not able to check.

Ferro throws a lazy head kick
and LaRusso counters with a nice leg kick.
Ferro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with LaRusso but LaRusso pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gilvan Ferro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
LaRusso connects with a solid leg kick.
Ferro misses with a leg kick
and LaRusso counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Nice takedown defense from LaRusso. No joy for Ferro on that attempt.
Ferro is breathing heavily.
Ferro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but LaRusso paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ferro is looking to clinch.

Ferro misses with a takedown attempt - LaRusso sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ferro lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Ferro misses with a hook to the body
and LaRusso counters with a thumping low kick.
LaRusso throws a nice inside leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for LaRusso.
LaRusso throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ferro's head.
Ferro misses with a lunging right hand
and LaRusso counters with a low kick, right behind Ferro 's knee.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ferro wants to clinch.
A head kick misses from LaRusso.
Ferro takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
LaRusso misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ferro shoots in for a takedown but LaRusso shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ferro has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel LaRusso dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


LaRusso chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ferro shoots for a takedown but LaRusso saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ferro tries to close the distance and clinch up but LaRusso swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gilvan Ferro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ferro shoots in looking for a takedown but LaRusso manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ferro's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
LaRusso lands a leg kick that knocks Ferro off balance momentarily.
A nice leg kick lands there from LaRusso.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
LaRusso lands a brutal head kick. Ferro looks out on his feet and LaRusso throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
