The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mecier circles away from the clinch attempt
and Mecier counters with a stiff right hand.
Mecier changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mecier wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mecier throws out a loose jab but Dentalplan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alan Mecier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mecier throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Broncko Dentalplan has been cut.
Dentalplan looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dentalplan tries to clinch but Mecier moves away

and Mecier counters with a right hand that sends Dentalplan tumbling to the canvas! Can Mecier finish him? He dives into Dentalplan's guard looking to do just that!

Mecier content to stall in guard here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dentalplan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mecier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Mecier drops back looking for a leg! Dentalplan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dentalplan manages to kick Mecier off! Mecier jumps back into Dentalplan's guard.

Mecier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Mecier's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Mecier stands and throws Dentalplan's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mecier advances to mount.
Mecier controlling from the full mount.
Dentalplan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mecier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
