The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acker gets a clinch. Acker lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A quick uppercut on the inside from Acker. Acker breaks from the clinch.
Acker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Acker has had enough of the clinch but Dog keeps him there for the moment. Dog tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Acker gets underhooks to prevent Dog's takedown attempt.
A nice right hand lands inside from Acker. A left hand lands to the body for Acker.
A short left from Acker. Acker pushes Dog back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Acker tries to break free but Dog pushes him back against the cage. Acker lands with a left to the head. A right hand to the body from Acker.
Dog takes a shot to the head. Acker stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A short right from Acker on the inside. Dog looks gassed! Dog jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Acker walks away with a smile on his face. Dog gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Gerard Acker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The Dog. Acker lands a slapping body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acker lands a jab-cross combination. Dog closes the distance looking to clinch and Acker holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dog.
Acker pushes Dog back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Dog tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Acker smiles and moves away.
Acker moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Acker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dog's head. Gerard Acker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dog, pushing him back against the cage. Acker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Acker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Acker closes the distance and lands a one-two. Gerard Acker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dog closes the distance but Acker moves to the side and Acker counters with a series of strikes. Dog will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Acker pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Dog back to the cage. Acker follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Dog has his takedown stuffed and Acker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dog misses with a takedown and Acker counters into the clinch. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Acker scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Acker has managed to clinch.
Acker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Acker uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Dog with a poor takedown and Acker counters with a three punch combo that has Dog backing up. Dog nods at Acker to acknowledge the strikes. Acker cracks a nice hook into Dog's ribs. Dog is breathing heavily.

Dog has Acker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Acker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Acker tries to circle away but Dog has him pinned against the cage. Acker lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Dog backwards. Acker is leaning against Dog and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Acker works on Dog's body with a couple of short punches. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Acker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acker works Dog's body with a nice hook. Acker instigates a clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Dog tries to pull guard but Acker holds him up against the cage and eventually Dog drops back down to his feet.

A shot in the inside from Acker. Acker lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Dog. Acker content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Acker fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dog on the side of the head. Acker closes the distance and lands a one-two. Acker has managed to clinch.

Acker connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dog momentarily.
Acker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dog's head. Gerard Acker is winning the standup battle so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Acker's corner calls for a 1-2. Acker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice body punch from Acker. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Acker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A short left from Acker. Acker is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dog can do to turn this around? Dog takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Acker lands a hook that snaps the head of Dog backwards. Dog letting Acker take a breather here. Acker wants to break free but Dog has control.

Acker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Acker dips to his left and cracks Dog with an uppercut! Acker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acker with a nice cross. Acker takes the fight into the clinch. Acker controlling the action here for a moment.

Acker rushes Dog and presses him up against the cage. Acker working some nice short punches in the clinch. Dog tries to score a body lock takedown but Acker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acker lands a body punch. Acker working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A short left from Acker. Acker holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Acker has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Acker breaks the clinch.
Acker darts in and clinches Dog up against the cage. Acker has had enough of the clinch but Dog keeps him there for the moment. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Acker takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Dog tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Acker smiles and moves away.

Acker effectively controlling the action here. The Dog has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dog tries to pull guard but Acker won't allow it.
