The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marvel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shiva. Shiva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Bodhi Shiva has been cut.

Marvel tries to clinch up but Shiva circles away and keeps his distance.

Jugernaut Marvel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shiva has a takedown stuffed.
No luck for Shiva with that takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shiva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marvel sprawls well initially but Shiva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marvel is refusing to be controlled, as Shiva sits in half guard.

Marvel throws an overhand right that lands on Shiva's shoulder, as Shiva tries to avoid the shot.

Shiva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marvel to the mat! Marvel manages to get full guard.
Shiva is looking to work some ground and pound but Marvel has wrist control.
Shiva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Marvel wants to get back to his feet but Shiva is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marvel can do anything to dispel that myth.
Marvel is breathing heavily.
Shiva pushes down on Marvel's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Marvel is looking to get back to is feet but Shiva passes into side control.
Marvel tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shiva throws some wild stikes that Marvel manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shiva is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Marvel is in real trouble.
Shiva has good solid back control here.

Shiva has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Marvel is trying to defend against the choke here but Shiva has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Shiva Tightens the hold and Marvel taps out furiously! Shiva displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
