Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Grant Fletcher!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spesh throws a lazy right hand but Fletcher sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Fletcher fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spesh sprawls well initially but Fletcher persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fletcher is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spesh misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Spesh looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fletcher is trying to control the action in half guard but Spesh is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Fletcher tries to stand and escape but Spesh is controlling the position.

Fletcher seems to be working for a kimura but Spesh defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Spesh swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fletcher throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Fletcher avoids a punch combination nicely.
Spesh misses the shot to the body.
Rec Spesh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fletcher shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spesh but Spesh pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Spesh throws a hook but Fletcher avoids it easily.

Fletcher shoots in for a double leg but Spesh sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Spesh throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fletcher.

Spesh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fletcher manages to avoid it.

Fletcher closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Fletcher breaks from the clinch.
Spesh takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Spesh throws a shot from downtown. Fletcher moves away and avoids it.
Fletcher throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spesh's waist but Spesh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fletcher off to one side.
Whack! Fletcher lands a heavy head kick that drops Spesh. The ref tackles Fletcher to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Spesh was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Grant Fletcher!
