Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen The Heretic Anthem as his entrance music. Philip King told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ralph Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Philip King!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kong keeps the fight on the outside.
Philip King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kong tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Kong shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

King moves into range and clinches up with Kong.
A head punch blocked on the inside by King.

King closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Kong or perhaps it was just good defense by King which made him look bad.

Kong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kong throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for King because Kong loaded up on that one.
King is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Kong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kong wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kong takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

King wants to stand but Kong has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. King is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
King not doing much here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
King tries to clinch up
and Kong counters with a stiff right hand.
King tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Kong counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kong.
Kong wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
Kong looking to sit in guard and control but King gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kong not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

King gets to his feet - Kong follows without any prompting.

King moves into the clinch successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Philip King dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Some bone on bone action there as King checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kong is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! King is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! King has escaped and now he's on top!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kong has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but King has passed into side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Philip King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got King winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
