Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diego Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Tribbett!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter thuds his right hand into Tribbett's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick by Tribbett misses
and Carter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Robert Tribbett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tribbett fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Carter checks it well.
Carter lands a glancing blow to the side of Tribbett's head.
Tribbett takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Tribbett tries to clinch there but Carter circles away.
Tribbett is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Tribbett thows a leg kick but Carter checks it
and Carter counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tribbett thinking.

and Carter counters with a three punch combo that has Tribbett backing up. Tribbett nods at Carter to acknowledge the strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carter throws a head kick but Tribbett moves out of range.

Carter gets caught flat footed, as Tribbett shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tribbett trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tribbett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Tribbett engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Tribbett tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tribbett works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Tribbett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tribbett missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Tribbett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tribbett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tribbett throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Tribbett is working for a submission of some sort.

Tribbett is working for a kimura but Carter is defending it quite comfortably.
Carter has hold of Tribbett's hands but Tribbett slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Tribbett is looking for a kimura here.
Tribbett wants to free his trapped foot but Carter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Tribbett throwing shots but Carter is blocking nicely.
Carter avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tribbett.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diego Carter dominated that round.

Tribbett throws a lazy uppercut
and Carter makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A punch combination from Carter misses.
Carter throws a sloppy head kick and Tribbett moves out of range easily.
Tribbett throws a leg kick that is checked
and Carter counters with a left and a right that stings Tribbett.
Tribbett tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tribbett falls off balance throwing a combination
and Carter cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Tribbett darts in trying to clinch
and Carter counters with a nice body shot.
Tribbett shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carter pinned against the cage. Carter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A lazy body kick from Tribbett
and Carter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carter throws a right and a left that Tribbett avoids nicely.
Tribbett is breathing heavily.
Carter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tribbett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Diego Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carter pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Tribbett back to the cage. Carter follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Tribbett takes a kick to the side of the head.
Carter lands a big head kick that sends Tribbett to the canvas! Carter follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Diego Carter!
