PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kongo Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Hulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hulk has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hulk enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hulk manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Green is really struggling to control Hulk but he's trying to hold on to the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

and Green counters with a one-two to the body.

The referee is keeping an eye on Green - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Green fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hulk has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Green shoots in looking for a takedown but Hulk manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Green's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kongo Green. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kongo Green.
