The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Sapi connects with a nice looking jab.

moore shoots in and bounces de Sapi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
moore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. de Sapi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
de Sapi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if moore can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Juan de Sapi wasn't doing enough on the ground.
moore fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
moore misses with the combination.
moore throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around de Sapi's waist but de Sapi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing moore off to one side.
Juan de Sapi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and moore counters with a nice double leg into guard.
moore really doesn't want to stay on the ground with de Sapi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

moore wants to stand but de Sapi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
moore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but de Sapi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

de Sapi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
moore must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Oh but he could get punished here because de Sapi has locked up a guillotine! de Sapi's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? moore is holding on here and de Sapi must be using up a lot of energy. moore has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! de Sapi gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
