Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Materla on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Taylor on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Taylor tries to get out of the position.

Jon Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Materla content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Materla decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Taylor swats away the attempt to clinch by Materla.
Taylor pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Materla throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Taylor moves into the clinch.
Taylor comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Taylor is trying to maintain a safe position but Materla gets an underhook and turns Taylor into the cage.

Materla has Taylor pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Materla pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Taylor tumbling to the mat - Materla dives into Taylor's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Materla passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Materla advances to mount.

Materla swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
