PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Hulk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and franz metro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

metro closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
metro working the ground and pound but Hulk is defending the strikes.

metro is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hulk has escaped the position, nice work there.
Hulk might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hulk tries to improve position but can't.

metro decides to stand back up.
Hulk shoots and misses

and metro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hulk's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
metro stops Hulk from standing up.
metro is looking to work some ground and pound but Hulk has wrist control.
metro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
metro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

metro is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
metro thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hulk if he has to take too many more of those.
Hulk is breathing heavily.

metro shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

This has been an exciting period of action!
metro postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hulk looks a forlorn figure.

metro stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

metro closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hulk did well to prevent metro getting side control.
Hulk could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

metro is working for a submission of some sort.

metro decides to return to a standing position.

metro fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hulk, pushing him back against the cage.
Hulk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. metro is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

metro has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hulk is trying to keep an underhook but metro manages to get the takedown into half guard.
metro is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
metro is nestled in close to Hulk, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

metro decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Hulk moves to clinch but metro breaks away

and metro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hulk's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
metro slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
metro lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

metro shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hulk manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
metro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
metro really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hulk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
metro trying to control but Hulk is working from the bottom.
Hulk trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

metro stands up and waves to Hulk to follow him.
metro scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hulk with a lazy takedown attempt

and metro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hulk is working an open guard so metro takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

metro looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
metro is figuring out what he wants to do next.
metro is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hulk!

metro lands with some strikes.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

metro lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

metro working for a guillotine from mount but Hulk is in no mood to give up.
metro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hulk is trying desperately to improve position.

The referee warns Hulk that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, metro cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

metro has control of Hulk's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hulk regains control of the situation pretty easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
metro has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hulk's face.
Oooooh, big shot lands for metro! Hulk is hurt baaadly! metro is firing away with more strikes - Hulk is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
